The mission of this community-based arts center is to reach as wide and diverse an audience as possible and involve them in the creation, presentation, and display of the visual and performing arts. The constant schedule of classes, exhibits, concerts and other arts events is ongoing. They include theater events targeted at kids and families and a series featuring women writers, actors and other artists, along with a wide array of multicultural and multidisciplinary arts programming in dance, music, creative writing, theater, and visual arts.

A striking structure of planes of glass and concrete, the Minimalist-inspired Contemporary Art Museum is a fitting vessel for the boundary-pushing art within. Exhibitions change frequently, seeking to present contrasting perspectives and styles; past ones have focused on internationally celebrated artists like photographer Cindy Sherman. Programs like the popular Lunch and Learn and New Art in the Neighborhood, an educational opportunity for teens, are evidence of the museum's dedication to community outreach. Dine at the cafe Tempt (run by Wolfgang Puck Catering and Events), and pick up a memento at Muse, the museum store. Admission is free on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Thursday nights.

This non-profit arts center has been a major advocate for the promotion of arts education for more than three decades. The alliance also serves as a venue for local, regional and national artists in a variety of fine craft media, including clay, glass, fiber and wood. Each year, the center sells and displays the works of hundreds of artisans and provides an array of classes and workshops.

This showpiece of a theater, with elaborate carved stonework, brass doors, and gilded accents, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It's a popular venue for live shows, including touring Broadway acts, dance performances, jazz and rock concerts, and family entertainment. Tours of the impressive facility highlight all the architecture and ornamentation, along with backstage, auditorium, and lobby areas. Thursday and Saturday tours include a performance on the antique organ. Lunch packages are available.

This grand, ornate structure is a tribute to the fine craftsmanship of a bygone era. It has been the home of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra for more than a hundred years, and it also hosts a schedule of other musical performances.
